GED/ABLE Program

Godman Guild Association has provided GED classes since 1995. The mission of the GED/ABLE (General Educational Development/Adult Basic Literacy Education) program is to provide resources, support and opportunities for life-long learning to adults in our community. Staff and volunteers carry out this mission by working with community members to improve their basic skills and earn a GED. Our program is designed to be self-paced and tailored to meet the needs of the individual. Students also receive life skills training to help them balance work and family while pursuing their education.

Childcare (children ages 6 weeks to 12 years) is available through the WeePlay program for students while they are in class except for the morning class. Transportation is also available for students who live in the Godman Guild service area except for the morning class. All of these services are free of charge.

A graduation ceremony is held for those participants who earn a GED. This educational milestone is quite an accomplishment and should be celebrated with family and friends!
