Youth in Weinland Park have historically tested at an average of 45% proficiency. Intervention by A.C.E.S. (After school through Community Leaders Educators and Students) which provides students with innovative opportunities for learning through after school programming that promotes strong academic, social and leadership skills; more than 70% of ACES after school students tested at or above proficiency levels of 75% or higher in both math and reading tests and they have retained many of those skills throughout the summer.
Our teens received two hours of after school program and eight weeks of summer employment resulting in over 650 hours of college and career readiness enrichment and on the job training.
S.T.E.P. (Summer Teen Employment Program) offered 200+ paid internships for youth ages 14-24
29 adults obtained employment through our Job Success program
57 adults enrolled in our Transitions and Educate-Empower-Elevate (E3) post-secondary preparation programs lead to livable wage employment.
We enrolled 1212 students in our Adult Basic and Literacy Education program which is operated in partnership with South-Western City Schools, Franklinton Learning Center and Jewish Community Center. 680 adults improved one or more educational functioning level and 169 earned a GED.
