The
Godman Guild/Ohio State University (OSU) Extension Learning Center,
operated by OSU
Extension University District, and located at the Godman Guild,
is designed to assist Franklin County residents in meeting their
education and employment goals. The Learning Center is equipped
with 20 computers with high speed Internet access.
The Learning Center offers Open Lab hours (listed below) as well
as regularly scheduled classes. Open Lab hours are designed to allow
you to familiarize yourself with the computer, practice your keyboarding
skills, check your email, type a cover letter, update/create your
resume, conduct an internet job search, take a student initiated
on-line course
and much more!
In 2006, thanks in part to a grant from the Columbus Foundation our lab became an approved Certiport Testing Site which allows us to instruct and administer IC3 and Microsoft Specialization Exams (MOUS).
The Learning Center is open to residents during the following Open
Lab hours:
Monday: 9:00am-12:00noon
Wednesday: 3:00pm-5:00pm
Classes are offered in Keyboarding, Computer Fundamentals, Internet Basics, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access, and Money Management. There is a $5.00 membership fee for the Learning Center. Evening courses traditionally run 2-4 weeks longer than our day courses and cost $25-50 depending on the level of the class being offered. For a listing of upcoming classes offered in the Learning Center, call 614-294-5476 x126. Listings are updated quarterly.
All classes require pre-registration and free babysitting is available on a limited basis for designated classes.
