Summer Youth Empowerment Program

Godman Guild's Summer Youth Empowerment Program (SYEP) offers children in the Guild service area a well-balanced summer of positive social skill development and academic enrichment. SYEP consists of two day camp opportunities for children.

P.R.I.D.E. is held Monday through Friday at Camp Mary Orton (CMO). Children attend P.R.I.D.E. for four weeks and are transported from Godman Guild to CMO each day. Activities focus on fostering positive social skill development and include facilitated group initiatives, hiking, swimming and arts and crafts. P.R.I.D.E. is open to children ages 5-15.

P.R.I.D.E. stands for:

Peaceful solutions to violent situations;
Respect for ourselves, others and nature;
Identity of our culture, values and beliefs;
Discovery of the wonders around us;
Excellence to grow, flourish and succeed.

Summertime Safari is held Monday through Friday at Godman Guild Association. Children attend Summertime Safari for four weeks and are transported twice a week to CMO to swim and experience nature. Activities focus on fostering a love of learning and improved academic achievement and include hands on math and reading-based exercises, field trips, arts and crafts. Summertime Safari is open to children in Kindergarten through 3rd grade.

Children in both camps receive a nutritious breakfast and lunch each day, and supervision by trained staff, counselors and lifeguards.

This opportunity for children is made possible by caring individuals interested in helping to make a child's summer the best and most joyous and productive an experience possible.
