Transforming Families Together

An Integrated Two-Generation Strategy for Economic Mobility and Generational Success in Central Ohio

A New Vision for Family Opportunity

“If we want to unlock potential, we can’t just support the child, we must strengthen the entire family.”

In Columbus, Ohio, two legacy institutions, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Ohio (BBBSCO) and the Godman Guild Association (GGA), are launching a transformational partnership designed to expand access to opportunity and elevate family success. This collaboration integrates youth mentorship and adult workforce development in a place-based model, that offers a long-view approach to economic mobility, family stability, and generational progress.

Both organizations are co-locating at 555 S. Front St in the Brewery District, creating a shared headquarters that eliminates duplication, maximizes efficiency, and establishes a central hub for families. The model is not a new nonprofit; it is a stand-up framework that leverages the best of existing institutions for scale, sustainability, and measurable impact.

At this partnership’s core is a Two-Generation (2Gen) strategy, a proven, field-tested approach implemented in cities nationwide that aligns services for both children and the adults in their lives. The model is grounded in the understanding that families are the most powerful unit of change. When children and caregivers are supported together, both generations thrive.

This is not just a program. It’s a structural strategy for long-term, measurable success that strengthens Columbus’s most important asset: its families.
